Aloe vera doesn’t need any introduction as it highly popular and widely used in the marketThe most commonly known species of ALoe vera plant is Aloe barbadensis. Aloe Vera plants, great medicinal use and highly effective on skin problems.

• Requires a well-drained soil and a very sunny position.

Climatic environment for growing aloe vera plants:

As aloe vera plants consist mostly of 95% water they are not habitat of cold regions. Hot climate suits the growth of Aloe vera plants. Growing aloe vera plants in warm climates make them flourish and widely spread. Plant your aloe vera in full sun, if not then in light shade also. if you are planting it in home keep aside the window for proper sun light. if you are in mild climatic condition take care to provide sunlight properly. Aloe vera plants can always survive draught very well but for benefit of the plant water should be provided.

Propagation

Seed - sow spring in a warm greenhouse. The seed usually germinates in 1 - 6 months at 16°c. Prick out the seedlings into individual pots of very well-drained soil when they are large enough to handle. Grow them on in a sunny part of the greenhouse for at least their first two winters. If trying them outdoors then plant them out in early summer to allow them to become established before the winter, and give them some protection from the cold in winter.
Division of offsets when available, usually in spring. The plants produce offsets quite freely and they can be divided at any time of the year as long as it is warm enough to encourage fresh root growth to allow re-establishment of the plants. Pot up and grow on in the greenhouse until established.

Type of soil needed for growing aloe vera plants:

soil should be moderately fertile and fast draining as aloe vera plant it self contains lot of water and it will wilt if the soil is not fast draining.

Precaution taken in winter months:

As aloevera plants are very succulent in nature and contain lot of water in their leaves and roots. So growing aloevera plants in winter season needs knowledge and experience. As in winter the plant will become dormant and will take very less moisture. Watering of the aloevera plant should be minimal in this season until you don’t find the soil to be completely dry don’t water the aloevera plant.
